Corrections Policy
Last Updated: May 2026
NewVib strives for accuracy in every article we publish. When we make a mistake, we correct it promptly, transparently, and without attempting to conceal the original error.
1. Our Commitment
We believe that transparent corrections are a sign of journalistic integrity, not weakness. Every factual error — regardless of how minor — will be corrected as soon as it is identified and verified. We will never silently edit an article without acknowledgement, and we will never delete an article to avoid accountability.
2. Types of Corrections
Minor Corrections
Typographical errors, spelling mistakes, and minor factual inaccuracies (such as an incorrect date or misspelled name) that do not materially affect the meaning of the article will be corrected directly in the text. A brief correction note will be appended at the bottom of the article stating what was changed and when.
Significant Corrections
Where a factual error materially affects the meaning or conclusions of an article, a prominent correction notice will be placed at the top of the article, clearly stating what was incorrect, what the correct information is, and the date of the correction. The incorrect text will be updated in the body of the article.
Retractions
In cases where an article is so fundamentally flawed that it cannot be corrected, NewVib will issue a full retraction. The article will be replaced with a retraction notice explaining why the article has been withdrawn. Retracted articles are not permanently deleted — the retraction notice remains at the original URL.
3. Response Timeframes
- All correction requests are acknowledged within 24 hours.
- Minor corrections are published within 24–48 hours of verification.
- Significant corrections are published within 72 hours of verification.
- Retraction decisions are made within 5 business days.
4. How to Report an Error
If you have identified a factual error in a NewVib article, please contact our corrections team. Include the article URL, the specific error, and any supporting evidence or sources where possible.
Report a factual error:
contact@corrections.newvib.com
Please include: article URL · the specific error · your suggested correction with source
5. Social Media and Third-Party Republication
When a significant correction is made to a previously published article, NewVib will post a correction note on our official social media channels if the original article was shared there. We cannot control corrections to content that has been republished by third parties, but we will make reasonable efforts to notify known republishing partners of significant corrections.
6. Editorial Independence
Decisions about corrections, updates, and retractions are made solely by NewVib's editorial team based on journalistic merit. No correction will be made or withheld as a result of commercial, legal, or political pressure.
